  3. About the scheme
  4. ----------------
  5. The Supported Shareware scheme was set up by Joe Connor to encourage
  6. authors of German/French etc software to produce and support English
  7. language versions of their software AND to encourage UK users to register
  8. their software.

  10. Benefits for registered users:
  11. - Key to access registered user only features or remove the Shareware
  12.   Intro screen (some software only)
  13. - Access to the free update service
  14. - Labelled Master disk
  15. - ST-Guide illustrated on-line catalogue of supported software
  16. - ST-Guide on-line help (some software only)
  17. - Selection of other software (dependent on disk space)
  18.  
  19. The Shareware fees are set to cover the currency handling, stationary,
  20. media and postage costs incurred in mailing out master disks. Support for
  21. users in other countries is available, details on request, please feel free
  22. to ask or get involved with translation or support in other countries if
  23. you are able.

  55. How to register inside the UK
  56. -----------------------------
  57. 1)  Check the amount for the software you wish to register
  58. 2)  Make a cheque payable to Joe Connor for the required amount
  59. 3)  Be sure to include your name and address in a legible format!
  60. 4)  Send cheque to UK Address below

  68. Add £1 to your order total to cover postage and be sure to make your
  69. cheque payable in Sterling, Eurocheques and International Post Office Giro
  70. cheques are fine BUT I can't do anything with cheques made out in
  71. currencies other than Sterling!

  73. Where can I get updates from?
  74. -----------------------------
  75. The latest versions are listed every month in the Shareware column of ST
  76. Applications. To receive an update send a self addressed envelope
  77. including return postage and an unlabelled unformatted double sided floppy
  78. disk. Please state clearly:

  80. 1) The software you'd like updated
  81. 2) The version you're currently using

  85. You can obtain the latest English language releases via anonymous ftp,
  86. www, gopher, telnet or batch ftp from:

  92. The Atari area on hensa is maintained by Denesh Bhabuta who also offers

  99. Other sites are allowed to carry the on-line archives but because minor
  100. updates to the English language version are sometimes made without
  101. changing the version number hensa is the place to go!
